Africa Now is an initiative started by Live the Life to support the care of over 50 children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic in Makwale, Tanzania. There are 43.3 million orphans in sub-Saharan Africa. Makwale Baptist Church started this orphanage to house and care for the ones in their area, but they can’t do it alone. The ‘Africa Now’ fund was started to help support the Makwale orphanage, to keep it up and running. These 50 precious children need everything from food to clothing and shoes to medical supplies. Proceeds from all the Africa Now products go towards the support of the Makwale orphans.
Africa Now – Makwale Summit Challenge
In order to raise funds and awareness for the Makwale orphans, and all orphans around the world, the Live the Life team will travel to Tanzania to climb Africa’s tallest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Live the Life is looking for sponsors for each of the team members. Each sponsor will pledge a dollar amount per foot of elevation on the mountain. Our goal is to raise enough money to support the orphans for one year, which is about 24,000 per 40 orphans. Also, check out our “Makwale Summit Challenge” T-shirts that are coming soon. (Proceeds of which will go to the Makwale orphans.)
